My Story
I'm Laura Anderson, founder of K9 University. I enjoy spending time training my dogs, taking them out in the community, and going on long nature walks. My pack has participated in different levels of obedience, agility, rally, obstacle course, canine conditioning, and nose work training. My current family dogs include Bane (CGC, CGCA, CGCU, THDN, TDI) a German Shepherd Dog from Lone Ridge Farm. Bane is a certified therapy dog who currently visits elementary schools, college finals weeks, a therapy center, libraries, and other special events. Bravo (CGC, CGCA, CGCU, TDI), a German Shepherd Dog, is dual-purposed, civilian working dog used in drug and explosive detection and specialized mission functions for government agencies; and Baz (CGC, TKN, TDI), a sable colored German Shepherd Dog from Lone Ridge Farm.
I started training my personal family dogs during childhood, but started formally as a dog trainer in 2011. My experience includes serving as a volunteer trainer for a variety of foster/shelter dogs (P.A.W.S., Grahamville, American Belgian Malinois Rescue, Operation Patriot Paws); training puppy, beginner, intermediate, advanced, agility, canine conditioning, and rally classes; conducting private in-home lessons; assisting with and conducting CGC, CGCA, and TDI classes, workshops and testing; working in dog daycare and kennel programs; walking foster/shelter dogs; conducting home visits for rescue organizations prior to adoption approvals; and transporting dogs for Echo Dogs White Shepherd Rescue.
